This is Orléans protestant church, in rue de Bourgogne, on a small square with a statue of Jean Calvin!
In the middle of the 16th century, Orléans was the main Protestant seat in France. So, during wars of religion, Orléans was in trouble.
This temple is one of the first Protestant church in France! It was raised in the 19th century, on the foundation of the old church Saint-Pierre-Empont, and blessed on May 1839.
Architect François-Narcisse Pagot created an antique rotunda, with angel's heads on medallions. The front door is supported by four columns with Ionic capitals. The former dome was lowered in 1912, after a collapsing...
