What’s this?

Hey, people love waffle, in Northern France: do you know the famous filled waffle from Lille?

Well, we have here gaufrette (″wafer″): ″funny wafers″, gaufrettes amusantes!

A yummy biscuit made of 3 thin biscuits filled with a cream flavoured with vanilla, chocolate, chestnut or raspberry…

Hey, why ″funny″?? Because on each wafer, there’s a little humorous message, like: T'es pas cap (″Dare you!″) or Tous mes vœux de bonheur (″our very best wishes for your happiness″)...

The little history

A chap named Eugène Leblond created the recipe in Lille, in 1894.

It was a smash hit, but in the end of the 20th century, whoa, catastrophe: the mother company Leblond went bankrupt because of the competition!

Wait! Our story is not finish…

A family from Lambersart, in Northern France, owned the company. A second youth for our wafer!
