Castle Fenelon castle

Fief of the Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon family, the famous Fénelon, French writer and prelate, was born in August 1651 in this castle! Indeed, the future archbishop of Cambrai spent his childhood on these lands.

Entrusted to captain Jean de Massaut in 1375, the estate fell to Bertrand de Salignac in 16th century, who rebuilt the castle, which is a quadrilateral with a main building flanked by machicolation towers. He also laid out a courtyard and gardens.
