Fortification Loches Cordeliers gate

The Cordeliers gate (the name refers to a former convent founded in the 13th century) used to protect this side of Loches city, towards Beaulieu-lès-Loches.

It dates back to 1497: it’s Loches most recent gate.

In the past, it had two draw-bridges crossing river Indre. But the water was diverted!
