Parish church Notre-Dame church in la Charité-sur-Loire

This pure Romanesque style church owns 5 naves and is 122 metres long, 37 metres wide and 27 metres high! After Cluny abbey's church, it was in the past the biggest church in France, considered as "Cluny's elder daughter"!

The Benedictine priory and its church date back to the middle of the 11th century, consecrated in the next century by pope Pascal II.
