We are here now in front of the old house of the canons in the 13th century, the old hôtel de la Montée.

The turret was altered in the 20th century but its basis is composed of the old city's surrounding walls.

Joan of Arc came here in 1429. In the 16th century, the mansion fell to Louis Budé and Odard Hennequin, bishop of Troyes and chaplain of king Francis I.

Then, the marshal Charles de Choiseul-Praslin, Champagne's governor, lived here in the 17th century.
