Property of the abbey of Saint-Sever since the end of the 10th century, this church was one of the possession given by duke of Gascogne, Guillaume Sanche, to the monastery.
Originally, the church had a square chevet, a short nave and a bell-tower. In a second time, they added a second square chevet and another nave.
