Fortification Semur ramparts

A nice little city, former capital of Auxois, in middle of Burgundy! In the medieval times, Semur was a true stronghold, provided with a formidable defensive system, which was a strong wall flanked by 20 towers.

There was 3 fortified districts, the Dungeon's district, kept by 4 round towers (towers Margot, Orle d'Or, Gehenne and the one of the Jail); the Castle's district, west; Notre-Dame's district, east.

If you want a general view, go across the bridge which spans river Amançon!
