Tennessus didn't change one iota since its construction in the beginning of the 15th century.
Surrounded by moats, flanked by its massive tower crowned by machicolations, the castle which used to be surrounded by high walls seems so proud!
It belonged to the Chaillot des Près in 1404, to Guillaume de La Court in 1419, to Catherine of Luxembourg in the 15th century then to the Bodet de La Fenêtre one century later.
During wars of Religion, members of the Catholic league besieged Tennessus... a siege quickly stopped by governor of Poitou, in 1591! Fell to the Chasteigner, the castle was spared during the Revolution.
