Medieval city Hundred Years War Massacre Aigues-Mortes medieval city

The "Burgundians Tower" refers to this (genuine) story: in 1421, during the Hundred Years War, the Burgundians (allied with the English) ruled supreme over Aigues-Mortes.

A naughty traitor named Malepue let them in on the quiet in the city… But people, inside the city, were still loyal to the king of France Charles VII! So eek, they killed those Burgundians…

Lots of corpses in streets… those remains soon started to rot, to stink… So people put them in this city tower and covered them with salt!
