Bourg-l’Abbé passage Street District

This gallery was raised in 1828. The name Bourg-l’Abbé comes from the old Saint-Martin-des-Champs abbey in Paris. In the past, it was a place where inhabitants had easy virtues, said gossips!

Anyway, the two caryatids (allegories of Trade and Industry) were made by Aimé Millet, the chap who also created Poetry and Music muses on the Opéra Garnier’s roof!
