Cathedral Notre-Dame cathedral in Tulle

Saint Calmine, in the 7th century, founded a Benedictine abbey in Tulle. The monastery became very rich and extended little by little.

But the church was too small, so abbot Guillaume decided to rebuild it in 1103.

Two centuries later, the church became cathedral Saint-Martin when Arnaud de Saint-Astier became bishop!

A lighting struck the spire in 1645, but it was restored few years after.
