Pont Louis-Philippe in Paris Bridge

Inaugurated by Louis-Philip in 1833 in order to commemorate the 1830 Revolution, it was a hanging bridge raised by brothers Séguin.

Like every Parisian bridges at that time, pedestrians used to pay a toll, collected by the two men! One of the part was burnt in 1848: they rebuilt it and called it pont de la Réforme ("Reform bridge") until 1852. The current bridge dates back to 1862: they completely re-raised it further, upstream water.
