House Bourges tithe barn

The barn was located inside a cloister. This nice house dates back to the 13th century: inside, they used to put the dime, the "tithe", which was a tax peasants gave to the monks.

They put money in the barn, but not only... On the first floor, they stocked cereals, and kept wine in the cellar and attic...

They re-raised the framework in the 18th century but the whole barn was restored in the 19th century by Historical Buildings architect, Boeswillwald.
