The most famous horse in the world has his own statue, at the front entrance of Longchamp racecourse (Paris) : Gladiator, an English thoroughbred!

This effigy was made in 1866 by sculptor Isidore Bonheur (famous painter Rosa Bonheur's brother): he also created the bulls statues at the entrance of former slaughterhouses of Vaugirard

On the white pedestal, we can see Gladiator’s father and mother’s names, and all his victories in England.

An inscription also says the statue was given by mister Georges Halphen, an art collector...
