Rue-au-Lin in Orléans Street District

Here we are now in a very old street. It used to run along the small castle from West to East. Street's name came from a market, which used to take place here. To the west, we found the small fortified castle (Châtelet). To the north, the small chapel Saint-Louis or Saint-Vincent, an integral part of this castle.

In the small rue du Lin, we can see one of the old Châtelet's tower. In the Middle-Ages, this is where they used to put away torture devices and trestles for the pillory... Brr! But look at this! In front of the medieval tower, there is a piece of the castle's main gate (18th century).

And also!
