I will stick a needle in saint Guirec's nose

Statue Pilgrimage Saint-Guirec oratory

On his rock emerging from the sea, this is statue of saint Guirec, sheltered in its little granite house.

The current one is made of granite, but the former one was of wood: it was completely worn away by salt, so they had to replace it at the beginning of the 20th century.

By the way, the wood is full of holes! Why? Because single ladies came here each November 25th to put needles in the statue's nose: if the needle stayed in the wood, they would marry within the year. If the needle fell... poor ladies!
