Ducerceau was a prolific architect during the Renaissance area... Do you remember?

I already told you about him, because he raised the famous Groslot house in Orléans.

Unfortunately, we wrongly attribute to him the construction of several buildings in many French towns... So, we thought this house was raised by one of Jacques I Androuet Ducerceau's son.

We can see here a third floor, which is a sign of the owner's wealth.

Hey, look here! This is a cartouche with the Latin inscription Pax Huic ("Peace here upon this house") carved on the door's leaf: it's a reference to the unrest during wars of religion...
