We are here in the Luxembourg garden: here’s a fountain also known as "Observatory fountain". Gabriel Davioud raised it in 1875. It has 8 bronze marine horses, created by Emmanuel Frémiet.

In the middle, a group of statues by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux: these women represent Europe, Asia, America and Africa... that’s why it is call “4 parts of the world fountain”, fontaine des 4 parties du monde in French! Big turtles (by Frémiet), dolphins and a terrestrial globe (by Legrain) complete the whole thing.
