The fairy Mélusine, a tower builder in La Rochelle

Here is one of the tower which used to be part of La Rochelle's ramparts, with the Chain tower and the Lantern's one.

Completed in 1384, Saint-Nicolas' tower is composed of two vaulted storeys: on the first floor, the arms room. A staircase leads to a machicolation terrace.
