Medieval city Larressingle medieval city

Larressingle is a fortified village with its castle, old houses, powerful surrounding wall, square keep...

Former possession of bishops of Condom, the city dates back to 13th century. Lord Arnaud de Lomagne, abbot of Condom from 1286 to 1305, rebuilt the castle.

Hexagonal shaped, the fortress was surrounded by a wall crowned by a covered way. The keep's ground floor and first floor date back to 13th century.

You'll notice the thin windows in the walls: in the Middle Ages, light was truly rare... Gressolles put up the second floor.
