Next to the lovely village of Gargilesse, let’s stop here: a well worth seeing place, with an amazing landscape!

We are here located between the beginning of Massif Central and the end of Paris basin: the river Creuse loop.

Here, the water shapes a kind of giant loop. A pretty and quiet meander, full of hills, steep rocks and little trees… so peaceful!

Famous French writer George Sand (she had her house in Gargilesse) loved that landscape: she described it in her novel Promenades autour d'un village like ″a horseshoe around a fertile hillock full of blonde harvests.″

She even added it looks like a ″lovely Switzerland″!
