Narrow streets, old houses... Riquewihr! Fortified in 1291, the seigneury was sold in 1324 by counts of Horbourg Walter IV and Burchard II to Ulrich X of Wurtemberg.

In the 14th century, the city fell to princes of Wurtemberg-Montbéliard, uncontested masters of the place until the French Revolution. Riquewihr became famous for its vineyard.
